Continuing Education Units (CEUs): 

CE Credit for all programs are provided by PharmCon. PharmCon is approved by the Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Technicians in attendance who complete the online evaluation will receive 1.0 CE.

 

Learning Objectives:
- Review Maryland state laws pertaining to pharmacist administered vaccinations.
- Discuss the technician's role in improving public health by providing immunizations in the pharmacy.
- Determine target populations for specific vaccinations.
- Identify operational aspects of pharmacy-based vaccination programs such as preparation, storage, inventory, patient education and documentation.
- Apply best practices to avoid vaccine errors and optimize patient safety in delivering immunization services.


This 1-hour CE will educate pharmacy technicians on ways to optimize immunization workflow. The presentation will include immunization best practices and tips to ensure patient safety.
