American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA)

Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP)

Created in 1944, is an organization representing institutional and organized health care pharmacy practice in Maryland. The Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacy consists of practitioners of health system pharmacy, technicians, students, and other MSHP members. MSHP enables the health-system pharmacy community to improve patient outcomes by supporting education, research, advocacy, development, and integration of pharmacy practitioners as integral members of the health care team.

National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA)

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) was founded in 1933 and represents the largest component of pharmacy practice--chain community pharmacy.

Johns Hopkins Health System has launched a new electronic medical record system, Epic.  This system is used across all Johns Hopkins Health System Hospitals (Johns Hopkins Hospital, Bayview, Sibley, Suburban, and Howard County), all Johns Hopkins University medical sites (Greenspring Station, White Marsh, etc.), and throughout all Johns Hopkins Community Physician practices.  The system produces prescriptions with new tamper resistant features.  The features meet the federal and state tamper resistant requirements
